Hot Rod

Thermal Extraction Heater

This one's for the real collectors...

Imagine a desktop thermal extraction heater with a simple analog controller that runs on Old Head electronics, and powers a high output thermal extraction heater wrapped in a sleek walnut and cherry handle by Sticky Brick Labs.

In the perfect marriage of form and function, the Hot Rod provides thorough extraction with a crisp and clean signature through your existing 14mm/18mm* glass labware - in an attractive package that will look right at home on any desk/table and that operates at less than 20 watts of power!

The Hot Rod features a ceramic heating rod, sheathed in a matrix of rubies and housed within a titanium heat injector, which provides strong and consistent thermal extraction with hight heat output. The heater attaches to the controller by a cable jacketed in high-temp silicon, and the analog controller makes the device a perfect match for a smart switch to be able to set power schedules or otherwise control device power remotely.

Wood is one of nature's great thermal insulators, making it the perfect choice for the handle of the Hot Rod.

Why Wood?

Wood is one of nature's great thermal insulators, making it the perfect choice for the handle of the Hot Rod. Despite the heat of the titanium tip, the handle stays cool to the touch and feels great in the hand. The addition of magnets in the handle and base provide the 'sticky click' we've all come to know and love when placing the handle back on the base!

While the titanium tip will fit most glass extraction chambers made for 18mm injectors, the included walnut extraction chamber again uses the wood's thermal properties to it's advantage, providing more even and far more efficient extraction - without interrupting terpene profiles. This is thanks to a great design by Sticky Brick Labs that seats the stainless 5/8" screen right on top of the glass connector, which also makes maintenance super easy.

*The included walnut thermal extraction chamber comes with a 14mm male glass connector, which can easily be swapped out for an 18mm male glass connector (sold separately) to accommodate a variety of different glass labware.

Hot spot? What hot spot?

The shower head layout at the tip of the heat injector has been carefully designed to send a gentle stream of heat down the center of the extraction chamber while focusing the majority of the heat around the perimiter to ensure the most even and consistent extraction possible.

Need extra protection?

The stand of the Hot Rod is designed to keep the hot parts pointed away from you and mostly out of harm's way, but for those interested in a little extra peace of mind, there's the optional Hot Rod Heat Guard.

The Hot Rod is available in three models: A 110V model with North American power cord, a 220V model with British power cord, and a 220V model with Australian power cord.
